Job Description
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, and healthcare professionals to translate innovative ideas into practical solutions that address real-world healthcare needs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Research and Development:
- Conducting research to identify current healthcare challenges and opportunities for technological innovation.
- Designing and developing biomedical devices, equipment, and systems using principles of engineering, biology, and medicine.
- Testing and evaluating prototypes to ensure functionality, safety, and effectiveness.
- Product Design and Optimization:
- Collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Utilizing CAD software and other design tools to create detailed product specifications and engineering drawings.
- Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses to assess the viability of new product concepts.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and requirements, such as FDA regulations and ISO standards, throughout the product development process.
- Participating in regulatory submissions and reviews to obtain necessary approvals for product commercialization.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, clinicians, and regulatory experts, to achieve project goals and milestones.
- Communicating technical concepts and project updates effectively to team members and stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and meetings.
- Continuous Learning and Professional Development:
- Staying abreast of advancements in biomedical engineering, healthcare technology, and regulatory standards through continuous learning and professional development activities.
- Participating in conferences, seminars, and workshops to expand knowledge and expertise in relevant areas.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred.
- years of experience in biomedical engineering, medical device design, or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering design tools.
- Strong understanding of biomedical principles, medical device regulations, and quality management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of biomedical devices and systems is desirable.
- Familiarity with software programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is a plus.
