Job Description

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers, scientists, and healthcare professionals to translate innovative ideas into practical solutions that address real-world healthcare needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Research and Development:
    • Conducting research to identify current healthcare challenges and opportunities for technological innovation.
    • Designing and developing biomedical devices, equipment, and systems using principles of engineering, biology, and medicine.
    • Testing and evaluating prototypes to ensure functionality, safety, and effectiveness.
  2. Product Design and Optimization:
    • Collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to optimize product design for performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
    • Utilizing CAD software and other design tools to create detailed product specifications and engineering drawings.
    • Conducting feasibility studies and cost analyses to assess the viability of new product concepts.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and requirements, such as FDA regulations and ISO standards, throughout the product development process.
    • Participating in regulatory submissions and reviews to obtain necessary approvals for product commercialization.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, including engineers, scientists, clinicians, and regulatory experts, to achieve project goals and milestones.
    • Communicating technical concepts and project updates effectively to team members and stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and meetings.
  5. Continuous Learning and Professional Development:
    • Staying abreast of advancements in biomedical engineering, healthcare technology, and regulatory standards through continuous learning and professional development activities.
    • Participating in conferences, seminars, and workshops to expand knowledge and expertise in relevant areas.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Master’s or Ph.D. degree preferred.
  • years of experience in biomedical engineering, medical device design, or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering design tools.
  • Strong understanding of biomedical principles, medical device regulations, and quality management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of biomedical devices and systems is desirable.
  • Familiarity with software programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is a plus.
