Job Description: As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a vital role in assisting psychiatric patients in their treatment and rehabilitation process. You will work closely with psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide compassionate care and support to patients with various mental health disorders. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting patients with daily activities, such as grooming, bathing, and dressing.
  • Monitoring patients’ vital signs and reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Administering medications as prescribed by physicians and ensuring compliance with medication regimens.
  • Observing and documenting patients’ behavior, progress, and response to treatment.
  • Providing emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients to promote a positive treatment environment.
  • Assisting in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Participating in educational activities and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills in psychiatric care.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a certified psychiatric technician program preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a psychiatric setting or healthcare environment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatment modalities, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor towards patients.
