Job Description

The Agricultural Loan Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of agricultural loans and providing expert financial advice to farmers and agribusiness clients. This role involves evaluating loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, and developing tailored financial solutions to meet the unique needs of the agricultural industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agriculture and finance, with a passion for supporting the farming community.

Key Responsibilities:

Loan Processing and Management:

  • Evaluate and process loan applications from farmers and agribusinesses.
  • Conduct thorough credit analysis and risk assessments.
  • Determine appropriate loan terms and conditions.

Client Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to clients on loan options, financial planning, and risk management.
  • Conduct on-site visits to understand clients’ operations and assess collateral.

Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor and manage a portfolio of agricultural loans.
  • Ensure timely loan payments and compliance with loan agreements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks within the loan portfolio.

Market Development:

  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and expand the loan portfolio.
  • Stay informed about market trends, agricultural practices, and economic factors affecting the agricultural sector.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Agriculture, Business Administration, or related field.
