Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving the well-being of animals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and X-rays.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their well-being.
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including feeding, grooming, and administering fluids.
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient charts.
- Educate clients on topics such as preventive care, nutrition, and medication administration.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic or hospital.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering client inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) preferred.
- Proficiency in performing medical procedures and using veterinary equipment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Compassion for animals and dedication to providing excellent patient care.
- Knowledge of animal behavior, anatomy, and common diseases.
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems for medical recordkeeping and scheduling.
