Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for improving the well-being of animals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
  2. Perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and X-rays.
  3. Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
  4. Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure their well-being.
  5. Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including feeding, grooming, and administering fluids.
  6. Maintain accurate medical records and update patient charts.
  7. Educate clients on topics such as preventive care, nutrition, and medication administration.
  8. Assist with inventory management and ordering of medical supplies.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic or hospital.
  10. Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering client inquiries.

Qualifications:

  1. Certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) preferred.
  2. Proficiency in performing medical procedures and using veterinary equipment.
  3. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  5. Compassion for animals and dedication to providing excellent patient care.
  6. Knowledge of animal behavior, anatomy, and common diseases.
  7. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for medical recordkeeping and scheduling.
