Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating educational environment where young students can develop their academic, social, and emotional skills. The teacher will plan, implement, and assess lessons in accordance with the school’s curriculum guidelines and state educational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruction and Classroom Management:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet state standards and align with the school’s curriculum.
- Foster a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
- Employ a variety of teaching methods and instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles.
- Utilize technology and other resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Regularly assess student performance through formative and summative assessments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and development.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents on academic performance and behavior.
- Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to support student learning and development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
- Contribute to school events, extracurricular activities, and community engagement initiatives.
- Classroom Environment:
- Create a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages respect and promotes learning.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a conducive learning environment.
- Implement school policies and procedures consistently.
- Additional Duties:
- Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification in Elementary Education.
- Experience:
- Previous teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
- Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive teaching practices.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of elementary education curriculum and best teaching practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate students.
- Proficiency with classroom technology and educational software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry educational materials and equipment.
- Stamina to handle the physical demands of the classroom environment.
