Job Description

This role supports the Senior Pastor in implementing the church’s vision and mission by managing staff, resources, and ministries. The Executive Pastor ensures that the church operates efficiently, maintains financial health, and fulfills its spiritual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Vision:
    • Collaborate with the Senior Pastor and church leadership to develop and implement the church’s vision and strategic plan.
    • Provide leadership and oversight to church staff, ensuring alignment with the church’s mission and values.
    • Foster a culture of spiritual growth, community, and service within the church.
  2. Operational Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day church operations, including administration, facilities, and technology.
    • Ensure effective communication and coordination between ministries and departments.
    • Develop and maintain operational policies and procedures.
  3. Financial Stewardship:
    • Work with the finance team to develop and manage the church budget.
    • Oversee financial operations, including accounting, payroll, and financial reporting.
    • Ensure responsible stewardship of church resources and compliance with financial policies.
  4. Staff Development:
    • Recruit, hire, and manage church staff and volunteers.
    • Provide mentorship, training, and performance evaluations for staff members.
    • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  5. Program and Ministry Oversight:
    • Support and supervise ministry leaders in the planning and execution of church programs.
    • Ensure that all ministries are aligned with the church’s mission and goals.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvement.
  6. Community and Member Engagement:
    • Promote active participation and engagement of church members in various activities and ministries.
    • Serve as a liaison between the church leadership and congregation, addressing concerns and fostering unity.
    • Represent the church in community activities and build relationships with other churches and organizations.
  7. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure the church complies with legal, denominational, and ethical standards.
    • Oversee risk management strategies, including safety protocols and insurance coverage.
    • Manage the church’s response to crises and emergencies.
