Job Description

This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to develop products that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and manufacturable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Concept Development: Generate innovative product concepts that meet user needs and align with the company’s brand and vision.
  • Design Execution: Create detailed sketches, 3D models, and prototypes to bring concepts to life.
  • User-Centered Design: Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and ensure products meet user needs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, marketing, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with overall product strategy.
  • Materials and Manufacturing: Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, considering cost, sustainability, and performance.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Documentation: Produce detailed design specifications, technical drawings, and documentation to guide production and ensure quality control.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products to inform design decisions and maintain competitive edge.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in physical product design, preferably in a consumer goods industry.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with 3D printing and prototyping.
  • Creativity: Strong aesthetic sense and ability to generate innovative design solutions.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically about design challenges.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain design concepts to various stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and across departments.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
