Job Description

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, chopping, and cutting various foods.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and portion sizes.
  • Assist in the preparation of menu items, including salads, soups, sauces, and other dishes.
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to ensure sanitary conditions in the kitchen.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and cleaning of equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management by keeping track of ingredient levels and notifying the chef or manager when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely preparation of food items.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a kitchen environment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, such as bags of ingredients or pots and pans.
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid environment and tolerate exposure to various kitchen elements, including sharp objects and cleaning chemicals.
